What Does the Scholarship Cover?

Reimbursement for mileage and travel expenses (lodging, meals, etc.) directly related to the Certified Rater/Verifier’s travel to and from the project location. Anticipating that multifamily projects will require more visits than a single family and other small projects, the maximum amounts by project type are listed below:

Office Location

Brainerd

Rochester

St. Paul

Watertown

Maximum Scholarship per Project

Single Family, Duplexes, and Triplexes: $750

Multifamily (4 or more units): $1,500

The scholarship is capped annually at $3,000 total for all projects across the state, unless otherwise adjusted by the Phius Alliance Board.

Greater Minnesota Rater/Verifier Scholarship Program

We recognize that due to the limited number of rating and verification professionals outside of Minnesota’s major population centers, certification often represents a significant barrier to the construction of Phius-certified projects throughout the rest of the state.

That’s why we’ve developed the Greater Minnesota Rater/Verifier Scholarship Program, to help offset some of the extra costs associated with these projects.

Who Qualifies?

Any project seeking Phius certification in an eligible county within the state of Minnesota. See the attached map for qualifying locations.
